Welcome to www.RoadRally.org
Update, 2010-02-08: This site is in a state of complete
non-development. If you're here for purposes related to The Game,
I recommend you visit Team Snout's
Game Page, where things are definitely getting attention
paid.
Update, 2004-06-03: I'm currently working on a whole new version
of the RoadRally.org site.
It's currently in very early development, but
eventually I hope to have capabilities for self-service linking to
games, team pages, logs for existing games, etc. Again, this is in very
early stages right now, but... well, I figured I'd go ahead and make it
available. Meanwhile, I hope to go dig through an e-mail box that I
just realized I haven't been checking, so hopefully if you've sent me
links and such, they'll show up soon. :-) Thanks for
visiting!
Welcome to www.RoadRally.org, home of The
RoadRally[TM] Driving
Adventure Contests.
Known games (of the upcoming variety, if I'm on top of
things; alas, I'm often not -- sorry about that):
Registered teams:
OK, the definition of "register" is a little loose here, but
to facilitate communication and other sharing between the
various "regular" teams that are out there, I thought I'd set up
some links to folks... So, here are the teams I know about, and
have some sort of link for:
(If you'd like to "register" a team, and add info here on the
roadrally.org web page (or just a link, if you've already got
one, whichever you prefer), please send us some
e-mail.
Past games
(Sorry, I don't have links for all of them -- or they're
not handy -- but feel free to fill me in if you have a link for
one that I don't have one for):
- Genodix, a.k.a. The Genome Game --
2004-07-12,13 -- run by Team Advil (sorry for propogating the rumor
earleir that it was by the folks who did Espionage... not at all
the case; not sure how I got convinced it was. ;-)
- Shinteki - Aquarious --
2004-05-08, 15, 22 (three games) -- run by the folks who did
Jackpot, we have not one, but a whole series of games... wow.
(Aquarious is done now, but look for more games there, too.)
- PacManhattan --
2004-05-08 -- A little different than most other games, but there
are live photos, video, and other bits of info coming in from the
game in progress!
- The Goonies Game --
2003-04-26 -- this was a nice game, run by our friends the Orange
Crush.
- Urban Challenge
-- this seems to be more of a "professionally" done thing,
and involves multiple games in multiple locales, but with a
bit of a different bent than the ones normally mentioned
here. But hey, that's no reason not to link to them.
- The Game2 -- The
Game, it appears, has found its way to Ann Arbor, Michican.
- FoBiK, 2002-10-19 (& Sunday
as well? I imagine so; it's from 2-day-game veterans Team
Snout)
- 8-ball, Saturday,
2002-05-18
- BATH; Date changed --
again!!! Now scheduled to be held September 29th (only), 2001.
(A week earlier than the most recent scheduled date)
- The Legend of Zelda: A Hidden
Link, to be played in the Bay Area on Oct. 27-28th (2001 I
believe it was); application deadline Sep. 24th.
- 2001 SINS, August 25th, 2001.
The Game will begin in NYC (time TBA--it will be the morning of the
25th).
- The third annual Young Alumni of the Bay Area (YABA) treasure hunt -- in San Francisco,
on foot, on Saturday July 28th, 2001... Join the mailing
list, and get a special hint for one of the clues.
- HLOTF; May 5, 2001
- the 420 game; 4/20,
2001
- Doors 2000
- vQuest; August 12,
2000
- Willy Wonka
- Espionage
Other:
- eGroup for
"The Game" games
- If you'd like to receive announcements in your e-mail box,
send an empty e-mail message to announcements-subscribe@roadrally.org. This is a
moderated list, so traffic should be low (at least until
more road rally organizers find out about it! ;-)
- If you've got a roadrally that you'd lie to announce, please
send mail to announcements@roadrally.org... Don't forget to include
the Date, Time, Location (think global, here! Who knows
where the recepients of your message may be?), and a way for
people to get more information and/or sign up to play! (This
could be a web page, an e-mail address, or whatever)
(Postings that do not include such information are subject
to being rejected)
Please note that this site has nothing whatsoever to do with
the site (that at least used to exist) at www.roadrally.com, or
with TDC games (the owner of that site/domain). And as far as
we can tell, our definition of
RoadRally is completely different.
